A Traveler's Guide to Sera Valas

Sera Valas is one of the largest cities on the continent of Maldala, and has several distinct districts, each with their own style and flavor.

Hydra District: Old Towne
CE District, Secret Syndicate, No Religion

The original location of Sera Valas, long since abandoned by the nobles. While the Council of Nine has say in name of the district, no one with half a mind thinks they control. The crumbling Vilas and monuments are run by syndicates and crime families, peddling drugs, sex and human cargo to the highest bidder. Between the moss covered estates are crowded tenement buildings and those who can not live without their addictions.

Wyvren District Trade Center
LN District, Council, Light Pantheon

Bustling with traders from all over the Sea of Daggers, Wyvren knows it’s master, and it’s master is coin. The people here are friendly enough- so long as you are paying. This district is also home to the largest population of middle class citizens in the city.

Leviathan District Industrial Center
CN District, Autocracy, Moderate Cult

An industrial sprawl of fisheries, tanneries, lumber mills and warehouses, Leviathan is easily the largest district in Sera Valas, and from its many docks go most of the cities exports. It is also home to the most impoverished people in the city, who either live in crowded apartments, or catch the ferries every morning and night to Hydra.

Bahamut District Government/Cultural Center
LN District, Council, Strong Pantheon

After old Sera Valas started aging, the city center was relocated across the river, to the newly minted Bahamut district. Gleaming marble statues of the cities founders grace the approach to Council of Nine, and not far from it, the city Cathedral of Lights. The other major attraction in the district, besides for the sprawling gardens and upscale shops, is the House of Gis, academy of the magical arts.

Tiamat District Noble Estates
LN District, Council, Light Pantheon

Sprawling, elaborate and decadent villas mark the Tiamat district, almost nightly there are elaborate parties with fireworks, and elaborate costumes. Old money has its way here, and rather than having city guards, each noble family has its own small private military. The entire district is walled off to prevent unwanted traffic, and the bridges are heavily guarded.

Fort Linnorm Military Base

High walls and bustling cannons face the seas to the north, and to the south, docks holding a multitude of warships and dry docks await any would be threats to the city to the south. Dumah’s legacy to the city is security and safety.
